Nostradamus translation expert, Edgar Leoni, in his classic

words... "HEISON"...and "HIERON," both, in all capitals...in the original

works.

His educated guess... at the time of the publication of his book...was the

the term probably meant..." J A S O N." However, futher research gives the

GREEK WORD...for SUN to be..."H I E R R O N."

The other term..."H E I S O N"...I believe this to be a typical Nostradamus

style, word game clue...a puzzle if you wish...that needs solving...to take

it out of veiled concealment.

Please take notice...the only other capitalized word in the line of the verse

is...in ENGLISH..."At"...the very first word in the line.

When we combine the two words...A GREEK STYLE ANAGRAM WORD PUZZLE...we arrive

at the THREE WORDS.... "H E [ AT] IS ON," ...Simply meaning.." The HEAT is

from A B O V E [ synonym for "on." ]...or the..."HEAT IS FORTHCOMING [ FROM ]

The very next word in the verse is..." f a i t," which can mean..." F A C

T," that which is obviously true...the accomplished reality. We

then...transfer the term to the front of the verse line ... " FACT:...an

THE SUN"...would be a better way to put it.

The next word in the "word game...or puzzle...is, "sa." It can mean..."IT'S"

The next two words tell us what...but, once again...are veiled as to their

real meeaning. It is indeed true that the next word..." nef," in the French

means..."ship," but it had one other meaning...in Old French...it meant....

" B E E H I V E." The real clue...however...is in it's MIDDLE ENGLISH

equivalent...the word is use was...please read this slowly...it takes a bit

of getting use to...this use of veiled...concealed language useages...it

In a line that actually use the GREEK WORD for "SUN"...we can easily see the

true meaning...THE [S]un is WARMER...how so?

The next, and final word of the verse gives the SCEINTIFIC...and obvious

answer. The word, "FABRIQUER," to make or to build...has some other

veiled...but very valid meanings.

It also means to "penetrate," which according the OXFORD ENGLISH

DICTIONARY...strangely enough...means, " TO PERCULATE"...to make hotter..to

bring to a boil, ect. Simply put...a rather interesting statement.. for

16th CENTURY writtings..."THE SUN HAS THE ABILITY TO REMAKE ITSELF"..."TO

in the words themselves...by using a SIMULTANEOUS...in the same

verse...MULTI-LANGUAGE approach when delving into the true hidden meanings.

A COMBINTATION...of PHONECTIC...meaning the sounding of words...the

Orthographic...meaning the actual formation of the of the various letters

themselves...and muti-language useages...with a reliance on a heavy overlay

of the use of synonyms gives us many of the clues that are embedded in the

The line of the verse begins with a PHONETIC CLUE...the term..."Si

Now, we have a very definite time on the Calendar.

Some utilities cut power to some big users and struggled to buy extra supplies from outside their regions at prices well above the normal $30 a megawatt hour.

Hot, humid weather will last through the weekend from Chicago to Washington, and power demand could be a record tomorrow. ``Yesterday, we offered over $900 a megawatt in order to get generation to come in, but everybody is as hot as we are, so there just isn't the power out there,'' said Melissa Singleton, a spokeswoman for the power transmission and trading network for Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Maryland, the nation's largest. Power for guaranteed delivery tomorrow in a nine-state region from Tennessee to Michigan rose as much as $2,307, or 1,200 percent, to $2,500 a megawatt-hour, the largest single-day increase. A megawatt hour is usually enough to serve 1,000 homes for an hour.

Prices topped those of last summer, when prices surged to a record after a heat wave coincided with unexpected power plant shutdowns. Over the past year, prices averaged $37.25 a megawatt- hour in the region that includes Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia and parts of Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania and Tennessee.

KARGIL, India, July 10 (AFP) -

Indian air force bombers stepped up attacks on Islamic infiltrators on Saturday in Kashmir, as India and Pakistan armies fought with missiles and artillery in the disputed land. The Indian army, however, admitted that there was no sign of any withdrawal by the cross-border raiders despite Islamabad's pledge that the intruders occupying key Kashmir peaks since May will pull out.

An air force spokesman said 11 MiGs and Mirage jets Saturday dropped 7,272 kilogrammes (7.2 tonnes) of laser-guided bombs on a strategic ridge in the combat zone of Drass in Indian Kashmir.

He said Saturday's air strikes were in addition to similar attacks on Friday with 10,900 kilogrammes (10 tonnes) of explosives.

An Indian army spokesman said besides ongoing artillery duels the two armies fought with missiles in Kashmir but stressed the weapons did not signify an "escalation" in military tensions between India and Pakistan.

The artillery duels in Kashmir Saturday claimed the lives of what the army spokesman said were nine Pakistani army regulars and six Indian soldiers.

The latest fighting takes the Indian military toll to 327 dead and 493 wounded, the spokesman said and claimed that the Pakistani army has lost 670 soldiers in the fighting that began in disputed Kashmir on May 9.

Pakistan has denied the involvement of its military in the conflict.

The spokesman said the army was "consolidating its gains" in the sectors of Drass and Batalik and added fighting was on in the Mushkoh Valley and Kaksar on the Line of Control (LoC) which divides Kashmir.

Indian army's Kashmir commander General Krishan Pal said Pakistani soldiers were still about five-to-six kilometers (three-to-four miles) inside Mushkoh Valley.

In New Delhi, Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee claimed "a turning point" had been reached in the Kashmir fighting, and said Indian operations were about to achieve "a great victory."

"The enemy's intrusion and aggression in Kargil has now been turned decisively back," Vajpayee told the chiefs of army air force and navy.

India on Friday claimed the biggest breakthrough so far in its two- month offensive in Kashmir, saying "99 percent" of Batalik had been cleared of Islamic infiltrators.

The army said "90 percent of the enemy positions" had also been seized in Drass.

Elsewhere, Indian troops were carrying out "mopping up operations" after driving out the heavily-armed infiltrators and reported capturing a huge quantity of Pakistani arms and ammunition.

New Delhi has rejected all Pakistani offers for talks on the current conflict, insisting on a complete withdrawal by the Islamic infiltrators.

India also opposes third-party involvement in its 50-year territorial dispute with Pakistan over Kashmir, which is claimed by both countries.

India holds the southern two-thirds of Kashmir, where a Moslem separatist drive raging since 1989 has claimed some 24,000 lives, while Pakistan controls the rest of the state.

Pakistan has decided to appeal to the Moslem militants still holding peaks in Indian Kashmir to withdraw in line with a pledge made by Premier Nawaz Sharif to US President Bill Clinton in Washington on Sunday.

Militant leaders have said they will reject any call for them to retreat. But the United States said on Thursday it was "confident" Sharif wanted to end the Kashmir crisis.

India and Pakistan have fought three wars in the past five decades, including two over Kashmir.

ISLAMABAD - India is planning assault along the Line of Control in high altitude northern Kashmir, the ISPR Chief Tuesday said adding that Pakistan is ready to defend its positions. Briefing newsmen Brigadier Rashid Qureshi said; "Our assessment is that India will attack right from the Chorbat La to Drass. We do see the Indian capability to attack the LoC, which has five divisions across the Zoliga Pass." He said: "Pakistan knows that for the last eight months India is preparing for his high-altitude offensive, but we will upgrade our defence capability. And at the same time he made it clear that India does not have the capability of launching a full scale war against Pakistan. If they do it they will find it to their disadvantage." Brigadier Qureshi was mainly clarifying "certain perceptions", answered "some questions" and was giving "assessment of military capability". "But we stressed that Pakistan does not want to create war hysteria." He said: "India had already some 600,000 troops and paramilitary elements including seven infantry divisions, each division having four to five brigades and each brigade having four to five battalions. Another hundred thousand troops have been into that area is part of the planned assault." The ISPR chief said Pakistan got the knowledge of Indian plan when it got intelligence reports some eight months back that they were buying high altitude fighting gear. Pakistan Air Force on Red Alert ... 07/01/99

LAHORE: The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) has been put on 'red alert' due to the increasingly tense situation between Pakistan and India in the disputed territory of Jammu & Kashmir. The PAF is now in a state of combat readiness at all times and is ready to meet any eventuality that may arise in the coming days. "We are ready for any eventuality" said a PAF officer whose name has been withheld. "Insha'Allah, we will not disappoint the nation". PAF air defence fighters, mainly F-7MPs, are maintaining 24 hour 'round-the-clock' Combat Air Patrols (CAPs) on the whole international border between Pakistan and India as well as on the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu & Kashmir. The PAF is also conducting CAPs along its coast on the Arabian Sea. "The PAF has the capability to put 200 combat aircraft in the air within a span of 5 minutes of the orders coming in to scramble", remarked a PAF officer. The PAF's F-7MP air defence fighters are standing on the operational readiness platform (ORP) ramps of the runways in over 30 air fields of Pakistan with pilots sitting inside the cockpits ready to scramble within seconds. In some of the PAF's forward operational bases (FOBs), PAF F-7MP air defence fighters are on 'hot scramble alert' i.e. stationed at the end of the runways, with pilots inside the cockpits and the aircraft engines running. "The PAF is in a defensive posture but we have the capability to transform this defensive posture into an offensive one if the enemy dares to violate Pakistan's territory and airspace.", the PAF officer stated. The PAF has armed all its operational combat aircraft with armaments and equipment for their respective roles. "We do not think the Indians are foolish enough to attack Pakistan, but if they are then they will find us ready", said the PAF officer. He did not rule out the use of the Pakistan Air Force if the Indian Army crossed the LoC in Jammu & Kashmir. "We are watching every move of theirs, our reconnaissance and surveillance aircraft are watching every move they make, if they cross the LoC they will pay a heavy price for such a misadventure". He said it will be up to the Pakistan Army to call for air support and air strikes. "This will be the Army's decision", he said. Asked to comment on the reports that IAF Mirage 2000s were conducting jamming operations against Pakistani radar, the PAF officer remarked "We have better jamming equipment than the Mirage 2000s which they are using. Kargil represents a fundamentalist threat

External affairs minister Jaswant Singh said here on Wednesday that India was under threat from forces of Islamic fundamentalism in Kashmir. ``What we are witnessing in Kargil is not simply treachery but an extension of the Afghanistan syndrome,... the so-called freedom-fighters are a spill-over of Islamic fundamentalists,'' the minister said in an interview to The Times of India. Mr Singh said Kargil represented a challenge not just to India but to the international community as well. He said these ``forces'' have to be defeated both ``conceptually'' and on the ground in Kargil. ``We are very mindful of what the true challenge is in Kargil,'' Mr Singh added. The minister, for the first time, publicly acknowledged the government's fear that Islamic fundamentalists who had wracked Afghanistan were now eyeing Kashmir with the objective of setting up a fundamentalist regime and extending the frontiers of Islamic It is well-known that the Taliban had its origin in the madrassas or religious schools of Pakistan. Helped and encouraged by Pakistan, the handful of zealots had over the years become a powerful force and suceeded in establishing control over Afghanistan. The Pakistan army and the ISI, which nurtured the Taliban now want to take their help in brewing trouble in Kashmir. They provide the cannon fodder and support for the Pakistan regulars in the Kargil and Dras sectors. India's point is the challenge of fundamentalism is not just to this country, but constitutes a threat to the world community. Washington knows that in the post-Cold War world a principle threat to the US and the rest of the free world is from terrorist and fundamentalist forces. The bombing of the World Trade Centre and the attacks on the US embassies in Tanzania and Kenya is a pointer of the danger to the international community. Even as Jaswant Singh spoke of the threat of Islamic fundamentalism, two US Congressmen wrote to members of the House calling for support to ask Pakistan to withdraw the intruders. ``It is reported that these infiltrators are Afghan and Pakistani terrorists associated with Osama Bin Laden and the Pakistani Harkat-ul-Mujahideen,'' they said. By drawing attention to Islamic fundamentalism, India wants the world to pay attention to the kind of threat it is facing in the snowy peaks of Kashmir. Mr Singh made it clear that while India is seeking international understanding of its position in Kargil, it is not depending on the outside world to fight its battle. The government is determined to end the intrusion, the process has begun and we are succeeding, the forces have to turn back. Despite the emphasis on self-reliance, India is not letting go its diplomatic advantage and is going all-out to explain its position to the world.

300,000 INVOLVED IN SHELLED AREA- OF WAR ... 06/23/99

MUZAFFARABAD, June 21: AJK Prime Minister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry said on Monday that about 300,000 people in Azad Kashmir were affected in the cross-border shelling by the Indian troops while about 100,000 had been displaced so far. "The unprovoked and indiscriminate firing by the Indian troops has forced 100,000 persons along the Line of Control to flee their homes and take shelter in safer areas while the number of persons affected in enemy shooting is three times more (i.e. 300,000 he told Islamabad-based foreign and local journalists here at a briefing. Mahmood feared if the shelling continued the number of affected and displaced persons could go up. Indian troops deployed along the LoC frequently target the AJK civilian population with small and big arms. The fresh round of shooting that started from early week of May has claimed the lives of about 60 civilians in Azad Kashmir while scores others had been wounded. He said the situation along the ceasefire line was escalating and could trigger a full-fledged war between the two countries - India and Pakistan. Referring to the role of big powers in Kosovo, he said the problem of Kashmir was graver than that of the Kosovo and demanded immediate attention of these countries. "What we want to tell the international community is the fact that the lives of one billion people of the region are at stake," he said adding, "when a war breaks out, the warring sides can use everything in their arsenal." "Therefore the world community must intervene before it is too late," he stressed while recalling that the India-Pakistan history was testament to the fact that many other pending issues between the two sides were resolved through a third party mediation. He said his side was open for the UN military observers and the representatives of the international organizations. "But on the contrary India was denying access to held territory to everyone, which meant she was aggressor and guilty," he added. He said the position of Mujahideen in Kargil sector was "very stable" while the Indian authorities were "frustrated." "India has been claiming for the lst ten years that the situation in held Kashmir is under her control. If it is true then why she has been deploying additional troops in Kashmir every now and then," he questioned. Mahmood said the international community should not single out the Kargil issue for settlement instead they should resolve the core issue of Kashmir, which would ultimately address all other minor disputes, he added.

India under pressure to push Kashmir battle into Pakistan NEW DELHI, June 21 (AFP) - The Indian army, locked in combat with Moslem raiders in Kashmir, was Monday facing pressure to take the battle into Pakistan for a swift end to the military campaign. The demand came on the campaign's 44th day from a high-profile former chief of India's million-plus army, General Vishwanath Sharma, who argued the military should not be hamstrung by diplomatic considerations in planning its strategy. India on May 9 launched a full-scale attack on what it called Moslem infiltrators and Pakistani soldiers occupying strategic peaks eight kilometres (five miles) deep inside its part of divided Kashmir. In a bid to win foreign support for its ground and air attacks, New Delhi ordered the military not to cross the 740-kilometre (458-mile) Line of Control (LoC) dividing Kashmir and trespass into the Pakistani zone. Diplomats and analysts, however, say that stance may change if the fighting drags on nearer to general elections scheduled for the end of September and the October onset of the Himalayan winter. Former army chief Sharma said an appeal Sunday by a Group of Eight summit of world powers for an urgent halt to the conflict and respect for the LoC "clearly painted" Pakistan as the aggressor. "The only reason the army did not cross the LoC into Pakistan earlier was India's diplomatic games to get the international community interested in our viewpoint. Now that has been done," he said. "The Indian army had handicapped itself by not crossing the LoC because charging up hillsides causes heavy casualties," Sharma told AFP. "Thus to utilise the full scope of the efforts, one has to get on the rear of the enemy, attack their supply lines and take them by surprise. "This leads to less casualties and ends the military campaign much earlier than estimated," Sharma said. He called specifically for attacks on the Pakistani base of Skardu, 72 kilometres (45 miles) from the LoC, which he said was supplying the Moslem raiders in Indian Kashmir. General Shankar Roychowdhury, another former army chief, recently described the Indian reluctance to cross the LoC as an "impractical proposition." The two generals said attacking Pakistani supply lines with long-range artillery and mortar was inadequate, because the raiders were occupying high peaks which were unapproachable from the ground without Indian troops being detected. Independent defence think-tanks say the Kashmir campaign could drag on for months unless air-defence radar, missile batteries and ammunition depots on the Pakistani side of the LoC are targeted. Kapil Kak from the Institute of Defence Studies and Analysis said: "At present it is a totally reactionary strategy. For India it is literally an uphill task. "If India has to reduce the time-frame then it has no option but to do it incrementally by widening the scope of the war to ... the LoC and even across the normal border." The LoC was the product of exhaustive talks between India and Pakistan a year after their third war in 1971. Pakistan now argues the LoC is not well defined along the Kashmiri border. An Indian MiG-23 fighter pilot who recently returned from Kashmir said the ban on crossing the invisible LoC represented "a wall of psychological flak every time we flew a mission." On May 27 India lost two MiG fighters over Kashmir, with Pakistan saying it had shot them down after they strayed into its airspace. India denied this, saying one had crashed owing to mechanical failure.

Women and children are being moved to safer areas

Frightened at the prospect of another war between India and Pakistan,

thousands of villagers living along the international border in Indian Punjab

have begun moving to safer places.

According to a government assessment, nearly 200 border villages have been

affected and in some instances, nearly the entire village population have

abandoned their homes.

The migration from the border villages was apparently provoked when Indian

and Pakistani troops advanced and set up defensive positions close to the

international border.

Villagers say that this is the first time since the 1971 India-Pakistan War

that they have witnessed troop deployment on such a massive scale.

As troops move in, civilians move out

For the past two weeks, the Defence Road, leading away from the

India-Pakistan border in Khemkaran, Punjab, has been busier than a national

highway.

Scores of villagers, alarmed by the ongoing hostilities in the Kargil area of

Indian-administered Kashmir and the subsequent Indian Army deployment along

the international border in Punjab, are shifting their women, children,

household belongings and even livestock to safer places away from the border.

The township of Khemkaran, the largest in the area with a population of

16,000, now has less than 500 people.

This mass migration by border villagers is a phenomenon that has been

replicated right down the length of the India-Pakistan border in Punjab.

Fear of war

Villagers are unwilling to endure another war

Villagers said that they are not willing to bear the consequences of yet

another war with Pakistan. During the earlier wars - in 1965 and 1971 - they

were the worst sufferers who lost their homes, stocked food and cattle.

A villager told the BBC that once a war breaks out, all the roads become

crowded with military vehicles and there is then often no way out.

Though not visible during the day, villagers said they have seen the army

moving armour, artillery and other military hardware close to the border

during the night.

Soldiers manning roadblocks and pickets, and setting up communication lines,

are common sights, and some villagers reported the sound of gunfire on the

Pakistan side of the border during the night.

Authorities begin preparations

People are moving their belongings and even livestock

Despite repeated assurances by the Indian army and civilian authorities, the

panic among the villagers is so intense that many have begun selling off food

and livestock, that they are unable to carry.

Some residents said that border villages in Pakistan have also been vacated.

They reported that daily sounds of the namaz or Islamic prayer can no longer

be heard from them.

Though admitting the magnitude of the exodus from border villages, senior

police officials in the city of Amritsar insist that the panic is largely

unfounded.

However, civilian authorities responsible for administration at the border

have themselves begun initiating moves to put in place a civil defence

apparatus, required only during wartime.

Not one among the border villagers wants another war with Pakistan. But after

two intensely devastating rounds in 1965 and 1971, they have clearly learnt

to recognise the signs of impending hostilities.
