BOSTON
(AP) -- A Delta Airlines plane that flew into Boston Tuesday
morning was quarantined briefly because a passenger on the
flight was bleeding from the eyes.
The
male passenger, who has not been identified, was taken to
Boston Medical Center after the plane landed at about 11:20
a.m.
The
other 130 passengers and 9 crew members on the flight were
then quarantined, according to Logan International Airport
spokesman Phil Orlandella.
But
they were released shortly after, and were gathering their
luggage and heading out of the airport by about 1 p.m.
The
bleeding passenger was apparently in Brazil for about 20
days before boarding a Delta flight to Atlanta and, ultimately,
Boston, Orlandella said.
Orlandella
said a nurse on the board plane believed the bleeding was
the result of conjunctivitis.
