It is fast becoming known of the upcoming date August 11th 1999. It is believed by many this is the accurate date described in a Nostradamus prediction which some interpret as a Comet or Asteroid coming into Earth's orbit. It is unclear if it could be an actual collision or just the mere presence of a boliad in our solar system that would certainly disrupt climatic events on earth.

Others believe it will be the vision, or confirmation of a comet/asteroid during the August 11th Solar Eclipse that is the sign of other events to unfold in our world.

1,000 Asteroids May Threaten Earth...07/28/99

WASHINGTON (AP) - Up to 1,000 asteroids are large enough and close enough to pose a potential risk to Earth, but the chances of a collision are extremely remote, astronomers say.

Researchers attending a conference on asteroids and comets at Cornell University said Tuesday new data suggests there are 500 to 1,000 nearby asteroids big enough to cause planet-wide damage if they collided with the Earth. Researchers said there are probably 2,000 to 4,000 asteroids of about one-third of a mile in diameter that cross the orbital path of the Earth. These would be big enough to cause extensive regional damage if they hit the Earth, but probably would not have the planet-wide effects of the larger space rocks.
