Although the size and location of the quake in the article below is not necessarily unusual, it could be the start of a series of 6.0 or larger quakes to hit the ring of fire.
There are many who would suggest it is directly related to the exceptionally large moon occurring tomorrow, December 22nd on the day of the winter Solstice. Only time will tell. I for one will be keeping a very close eye on developments. You can be sure I will report STAT on events around the world. Of course if it happens in your neighborhood, I don't think I will need to notify you of an event. Here's looking at the moon.
Strong Earthquake Shakes Indonesia...12/21/99
JAKARTA, Indonesia (AP) - A strong earthquake centered in the
Indian Ocean shook parts of Indonesia's main island of Java Tuesday including
the capital, Jakarta. There were no reports of injuries or damage. The quake
had a magnitude of 6.4 at its epicenter 145 miles southwest of Jakarta, said
Fauzi, a seismologist at Indonesia's Geophysics Agency. Fauzi, who like many
Indonesians uses only one name, said the epicenter was located 40 miles beneath
the ocean floor The temblor, which lasted about 30 seconds, sent Jakarta residents
scurrying into the streets.
